BRITISH GAS GAUGES BIG OIL FLOW IN GULF OF SUEZ STEP-OUT

British Gas plc has gauged big flow rates in an appraisal to a significant oil discovery in the gas prone Gulf of Suez off Egypt. BG and partners Union Pacific Petroleum Suez Ltd. and Yukong Ltd. plan to spud a second appraisal on Block BN-1 on the 82,800 acre North Zaafarana concession in early July. The 2 Warda (HB 78.2) appraisal well flowed a combined 10,100 b/d of 14-23 gravity crude on tests of six intervals at 5,000-6,200 ft. It was drilled to 9,111 ft about 1 km west of the 1 Warda
