World ethylene capacity tops 71 million mt/y; Recovery on horizon

Anne K. Rhodes Refining/Petrochemical Editor The Journal's survey of world ethylene capacity reveals a global total of more than 71 million metric tons/year (mt/y). This is an increase of more than 17 million mt/y, or 32%, since 1990 (OGJ, Sept. 10, 1990, p. 49).
