Geological Data Services IHS Energy Group Infinity Consolidated Oil Well Services Methanex Saturn Methanol
Geological Data Services, Addison, Tex., has bought the assets of Englewood, Colo.-based IHS Energy Group's reservoir geology division, including its reservoir geology database, said IHS. Nearly all of the data purchased is in the Anadarko Basin.
Infinity Inc. said it has changed the name of its oilfield services subsidiary to Consolidated Oil Well Services Inc. Previously, the subsidiary was called Consolidated Industrial Services Inc. Infinity is an independent energy exploration and development company with a specific focus upon coalbed methane projects.
Methanex Corp., Vancouver, BC, has acquired 100% of Saturn Methanol Co. LLC for $28 million. The acquisition was announced earlier this year (Oil & Gas Journal, Apr. 10, 2000, p. 42). Methanex said that through Saturn, it has acquired the marketing rights to the 850,000-tonne/year Titan methanol plant in Trinidad as well as a 10% interest in the facility. Methanex has also acquired Saturn's potential future methanol development initiatives, the company said.
