Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has started production from Platform P-62 in the Campos basin’s Roncador field.

Petrobras describes P-62, which was installed in 1,600 m of water, as an integral part of the Module 4 project of Roncador field. Twenty-two wells, of which 14 are gas production and eight are water injection, will be interconnected to the platform.

The project’s floating production, storage, and offloading unit has the capacity to process as much as 180,000 boe and 6 million cu m/day of natural gas.

The platform will export oil through shuttle tankers and natural gas will be transferred through a pipeline connecting the platform to Campos basin’s gas distribution network.

The new unit will operate alongside production platforms P-52, P-54, and P-55, already installed in Roncador (OGJ Online, Nov. 26, 2007; Jan. 2, 2014; OGJ, Feb. 4, 2008, p. 41).
