The Oklahoma Corporation Commission ordered an oil and gas company to reduce disposal well volumes after an Apr. 7 earthquake that was followed by other earthquakes.
An initial 4.6-magnitude earthquake’s epicenter was 13 miles west of Perry, Okla., said the US Geological Survey. Perry is north of Oklahoma City and west of Tulsa.
Privately owned MM Energy Inc. of Oklahoma City has begun reducing volumes to a disposal well, an OCC spokesman said. The reduction in volume is to phased-in within 30 days to 5,000 b/d from 17,000 b/d, the OCC order said.
