MARKET WATCH: NYMEX crude up, Brent down in mixed markets

Brent crude oil for June delivery briefly fell slightly on Apr. 12 but remained just above $72/bbl in London while US light, sweet crude oil reached above $67/bbl on the New York market.

Brent crude oil for June delivery briefly fell slightly on Apr. 12 but remained just above $72/bbl in London while US light, sweet crude oil reached above $67/bbl on the New York market.

The May light, sweet crude contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 25¢ on Apr. 12 to settle at $67.07/bbl. The June contract gained 21¢ to $66.95/bbl.

The NYMEX natural gas price for May edged up 1¢ to $2.68/MMbtu. The Henry Hub cash gas price was up 2¢ to $2.71/MMbtu.

Ultralow-sulfur diesel for May declined by nearly 1¢ to $2.08/gal. The NYMEX reformulated gasoline blendstock for May fell 1.3¢ to a rounded $2.05/gal.

Brent crude oil for June fell 4¢ to settle at $72.02/bbl on London’s International Commodity Exchange. The July contract was down 6¢ to $71.40/bbl. The gas oil contract for April was $636.50/tonne, down $7.75.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries basket of crudes averaged $68.73/bbl on Apr. 12, up 44¢.
