AFPM asks EPA to reconsider its 2013 biomass-based diesel decision

The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers petitioned the US Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider its final rule increasing the biomass-based diesel minimum for 2013. EPA raised the amount to 1.28 billion gal from 1 billion gal on Sept. 14.

Hurricane Sandy prompts shutdowns of two refineries

Lukoil unit resumes olefins production

The US Environmental Protection Agency established the amount of biodiesel products to be included in US fuel markets during 2013 at 1.28 billion gal. EPA said it acted under provisions of the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act, which established a second phase of the federal renewable fuels standards.
