MarkWest Energy Partners and Antero Resources, both of Denver, have begun operations at the Sherwood I processing plant and on the first phase of a high-pressure gas gathering system in Harrison and Doddridge counties, W.Va.

Enterprise Products Partners LP, Houston, said its sixth NGL fractionator at Mont Belvieu, Tex., is operational.

Dow Chemical Co., Houston, has awarded Technip the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract and cracking furnaces engineering and procurement services for an ethylene production plant at Dow’s operations in Freeport, Tex., which it announced earlier this year (OGJ, Apr. 30, 2012, p. 26).

Egyptian Bahrain Gas Derivatives Co., a joint venture involving Dana Gas PJSC, loaded the first propane cargo on Oct. 1 from its NGL extraction plant at Ras Shukheir, Egypt. The project has taken more than 2 years to complete.

Total E&P UK Ltd. and DONG E&P (UK) Ltd., partners in developing Laggan and Tormore fields west of the Shetland Islands, have awarded a 3-year operations and maintenance contract to Aker Solutions, Houston, at the Shetland gas plant (OGJ, Dec. 6, 2010, p. 60).

Keyera Corp., Calgary, will increase ethane and NGL recoveries at its Rimbey gas plant in west central Alberta.

Calumet Specialty Products Partners LP, Indianapolis, earlier this month said it is considering adding a 1,000-b/d gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant to its Karns City, Pa., specialty products plant. This would be the first GTL installation in North America, so far as OGJ can determine; a few larger projects are under study and planning.

Dragon Oil PLC said it has built production to 70,017 b/d of oil on Aug. 11, 2012, from the Cheleken contract area in the eastern Caspian Sea offshore Turkmenistan.

A Chevron Corp. unit will invest $500 million to expand production capacity at giant Bibiyana gas-condensate field in the Habiganj district of northeastern Bangladesh.

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has let a $100 million contract to ABB of Zurich for a condensate processing plant in Oman.

Williams Partners, Tulsa, has let a contract to Exterran Holdings, Houston, for the design, fabrication, and installation of two gas processing plants in West Virginia.
