Saudi Aramco lets additional contracts for Jazan IGCC plant

Saudi Aramco has let two engineering and construction contract packages to Italy’s Saipem SPA, a unit of Eni SPA, for work related to the Jazan IGCC (integrated gasification combined-cycle) power plant project to be located adjacent to the 400,000-b/d refinery under development at Jazan Economic City, Saudi Arabia.

Williams’ Opal gas processing plant shut down after explosion

Williams Partners LP and Williams reported an explosion and fire at about 2 p.m. MST yesterday affecting the TXP-3 cryogenic processing train at their natural gas processing plant in Lincoln County, Wyo., near the town of Opal. There were no reported injuries or damage to property outside the plant. TXP-3 is one of five cryogenic trains at the plant.

Oneok completes NGL pipeline, gas processing, E-P splitter

Oneok Partners LP has completed three natural gas gathering and processing and NGL projects, including the 540-mile, 16-in. OD Sterling III NGL pipeline. Oneok also finished its 200-MMcfd Canadian Valley natural gas processing plant and related infrastructure in the Cana-Woodford shale and an ethane-propane splitter at its Mont Belvieu, Tex., storage site.

EPP to build Gulf Coast ethane export plant

Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPP) plans to build a fully refrigerated ethane export plant on the Texas Gulf Coast. EPP has executed long-term contracts to support the development, designed to have an aggregate loading rate of about 10,000 bbl/hr, or as much as 240,000 b/d. EPP expects the plant, which it describes as the largest in the world, to begin operations in third-quarter 2016.

Contract let for Iraqi NGL train

Basra Gas Co. has let a contract to Technip for the front-end engineering and design for NGL processing construction in Iraq. The contract, which is in partnership with China HuanQiu Contracting & Engineering Corp., is for Ar Ratawi NGL Train 1 at North Rumaila, Basra Province. Basra Gas is a joint venture of Iraq South Gas Co. 51%, Royal Dutch Shell PLC 44%, and Mitsubishi 5%.

Azure Midstream Energy LLC, Houston, has started up its 10-MMcfd Fairway gas processing plant in San Augustine County, Tex. A spokesperson for Azure Midstream told OGJ that the plant consists of two 5 MMcfd freon refrigeration plants.

Total SA, through its wholly owned subsidiary Total Olefins Antwerp, formerly Fina Antwerp Olefins (OGJ Online, Dec. 21, 2011), has let two contracts to a subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont SPA, Milan, for the implementation of the Refinery Off-Gas (ROG) project at its 338,000-b/d Antwerp refinery in Belgium.
