Chapman to succeed Pryor as ExxonMobil Chemical president

Neil A. Chapman is expected to assume the roles of president of ExxonMobil Chemical Co. and vice-president of ExxonMobil Corp. following the retirement of Stephen D. Pryor on Jan. 1, 2015. Chapman has served as ExxonMobil Chemical’s senior vice-president, polymers since 2011.

EPA won’t finalize RFS’s 2014 biofuel quotas before yearend

The US Environmental Protection Agency announced it will not finalize 2014 biofuel quotas under the federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) before yearend. The American Petroleum Institute and American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers each said EPA’s Nov. 21 announcement demonstrates again that it’s time for Congress to repeal or dramatically reform the RFS.

AFPM: Oregon’s proposed low-carbon fuel standard unconstitutional

Oregon’s proposed low-carbon fuel standards (LCFS) program is unconstitutional, the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers said in comments submitted in response to the state’s Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Clean Fuels Program Phase 2 rulemaking and proposed rule changes.

The Senate of the 30th Legislature of the US Virgin Islands has voted unanimously to send back a proposed agreement that would provide for the restart of Hovensa LLC’s idled 500,000-b/d refinery on the island of St. Croix to the legislative body’s finance committee for further review.
