Future of Croatian refinery remains uncertain

Croatia’s Ministry of Economy said it remains to committed to working with Hungary’s state-owned MOL PLC, a subsidiary of MOL Group, Budapest, to prevent the shuttering of jointly owned INA Industrija Nafte d.d.’s  44,000-b/d refinery in Sisak, Croatia, located about 30 miles south of Zagreb.

 

PDVSA wraps major maintenance at Puerto La Cruz refinery

Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) has completed major maintenance on the atmospheric distillation unit at its 190,000-b/d Puerto La Cruz refinery in eastern Venezuela, the state-owned company said.

WoodMac: China, North America face propylene oversupply

Oil and gas analyst Wood Mackenzie Ltd. forecasts that global propylene production capacity will increase to 165 million tonnes/year (tpy) by 2030 from a current 109 million tpy, prompting a radical shift in historical supply relationships.

AFPM launches web site to recruit refining, petchem employees

The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers launched a workforce development web site to provide information for anyone seeking a career in the two industries. “The refining and petrochemical industries want to let people know that we are hiring,” AFPM Pres. Charles T. Drevna said. “If you have a high school degree, or if you have a college degree, we want you to consider a career in these industries.”

Sasol lets contract for Mozambique gas processing plant

Sasol Petroleum International, the upstream unit of Sasol Ltd., has let a services-related contract to a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler’s global engineering and construction group for an electrical expansion project at Sasol’s gas processing plant in Temane, Mozambique.

Pemex lets contract for Salamanca refinery

Mexico’s Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has let a contract to South Korea’s Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd. for the execution of an ultralow-sulfur diesel (ULSD) project at its Antonio M. Amor refinery in Salamanca, in Guanajuato state.

Bahrain awards FEED for refinery expansion

Bahrain Petroleum Co. (BAPCO) has let a contract to a subsidiary of Technip SA to develop front-end engineering design (FEED) for four main work packages as part of a planned expansion and upgrade of the 267,000-b/d refinery at Sitra, on Bahrain’s eastern coast.

Engineering contract awarded for Oklahoma gas plant

A unit of Enable Midstream Partners LP, Oklahoma City, has awarded a contract to CB&I, Houston, for engineering and procurement of equipment and process modules for a new natural gas processing plant near Enable Midstream's 200-MMcfd Bradley cryogenic gas processing plant, currently under construction in Grady County, Okla.
