BOEM plans to prepare SEIS to comply with Chukchi Sea court order

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management intends to develop a supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) to help resolve production estimate deficiencies a federal court found in its predecessor agency’s original Chukchi Sea crude oil development plan, the US Department of Justice said in its first bimonthly report required under an order remanding the matter to a lower court.

BLM releases EA for Noble Energy’s eastern Nevada gas project

The US Bureau of Land Management released an environmental assessment for Noble Energy Inc.’s proposed Huntington Valley natural gas project 7 miles from Jiggs, Nev., an unincorporated community 30 miles south of Elko. Comments will be accepted on it through June 4, BLM said.

Initially announced as a discovery in February 2013, Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has confirmed that its 1-SPS-98 (1-BRSA-1063-SPS) well, the first to be drilled on Block BM-S-50 offshore Brazil, has tested carbonate reservoirs with good permeability.

KMG EP makes oil, gas discovery in Rozhkovskoye field

KazMunaiGas Exploration Production Joint Stock Co. (KMG EP) reported making an oil and gas discovery in the Bashkirian tier’s sediments of the Carboniferous period in Rozhkovskoye field. On test in reservoirs of the Bashkirian period, the U-24 well flowed at maximum rates of 1,900 b/d of light, dry crude oil and 6 MMcfd of gas through a 9½-mm choke.
