New to the ORS interface probe line of equipment is a 5/8 in. diameter unit designed for small diameter wells.

The new probe offers field durability and accuracy measuring hydrocarbon layers and water levels in monitoring wells or tanks to 1/200 ft (1.52 mm). The new stainless steel probe design features quality optical and conductivity sensors, the company points out.

Discrete touch field switches

The new Touch ThruMetal touch switch uses sound wave technology (patents pending) to detect the touch of the surface of just about any material. It senses the touch on the outside of a plate using sound waves and eliminates the need for moving contacts. This technology can operate in a variety of metallic and nonmetallic materials enabling you to integrate a switch using just about any material for its enclosure.

The switch allows you to use your front panel or enclosure to create a single switch or a complete control panel. When operating where hazardous materials are present, where caustic cleaning is performed, or where completely sealing the enclosure is a must, Touch ThruMetaI is available. The front surface of the touch area can be flat, making decontamination and sterilization simple, or engraved with any letters, logos, or designs you wish. Because there are no holes required for cables or buttons, the enclosure's integrity is maintained. Touch detection is done from the inside, in a safe and controlled environment, the company points out.

Switches are as rugged as the enclosure itself. Whether it's thick stainless steel, aluminum, tempered glass, plastic, or ceramic, these switches are suited for Class I Division 1, Class I Division 2, NEMA 4/4X, and NEMA 12 enclosures.

The company offers a line of explosionproof switch boxes and work stations that use agency-certified explosionproof enclosures.

TouchThruMetal works by simply defining the touch area on the back surface of the plate using a miniaturized touch detection circuit to create a switch. You can now create a switch just about any size, anywhere, in a flat or curved surface, in just about anything.

New hydrostatic-set packers

New hydrostatic-set Perma-Series production packers are suited for highly deviated well applications or where conventional packer plug setting techniques are not possible.

These high-performance production packers have achieved 100% success rate in multiple North Sea applications, the company says. The single trip packers consist of field proved permanent packer technology incorporating a hydrostatic setting module. Set using available hydrostatic pressure and without plugs or other intervention devices, this technology helps reduce packer setting costs by reducing rig time and helps minimize well intervention and its associated risks, the firm notes.

Packers also have a contingency feature that allows setting by installing a plug below the packers and pressuring up the tubing string.

New integral flow tee-BOP

A new product flyer, offered free upon request, discusses the RODEC integral

flow tee-BOP. The flyer features product specifications, features, and benefits and contact information.

Available in single and dual ram configurations, the unit provides a shorter overall height than separate components. Its positive alignment ram block design eliminates ram block and polished rod misalignment problems.

Other features include:

  • Improved well control.
  • Sour service trim option available to meet NACE MRO175 specifications.
  • Suitability for all pumping well applications.
  • Compatibility with any RODEC tubing rotator.
