Gas Technology Products LLC (GTP) Schaumburg, Ill., has announced that David Graubard joined the firm as a business development engineer to support GTP's hydrogen sulfide treatment technologies to the Canadian gas processing industry.

Schaumburg, Ill., has announced that David Graubard joined the firm as a business development engineer to support GTP's hydrogen sulfide treatment technologies to the Canadian gas processing industry. Graubard, who earned a degree in chemical engineering at the University of Tulsa, previously was employed at Chevron Texaco.

Gas Technology Products LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC, and has an extensive portfolio of hydrogen sulfide removal processes, systems, and products.

J. Ray McDermott SA

Houston, has named Kurt S. Nelson as senior vice-president of sales, marketing, and strategic planning; and William L. Soester as vice-president of engineering.

Nelson is a 32-year veteran of J. Ray McDermott, beginning his career in the London office, and has held various positions in locations around the world. He holds a BS in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Soester spent 12 years with Fluor and 10 years with Saudi Aramco. He holds a BS in engineering from the University of Houston.

J. Ray McDermott SA, a subsidiary of McDermott International, provides solutions for offshore field development worldwide. McDermott International is a leading global energy services company.

Octane Energy Services Ltd.

Calgary, has appointed James L. Rathwell as president and CEO, replacing Myron Tetreault, who has been appointed vice-president of corporate development.

Rathwell has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas services sector, and was a founder of Bowridge Resource Group Inc.

Tetreault is a former corporate and securities lawyer, and is a founder of Octane.

Octane Energy Services Ltd. provides oil field, pipeline, and facilities construction services, as well as environmental reclamation and remediation services, and electrical and instrumentation services. Comprised of Octane Energy Services Corp., Hughes Oilfield Construction Inc., K-Tek Construction Ltd., and Pronghorn Controls Ltd., Octane operates from 14 locations across western Canada.

Houston, has promoted Andy Thompson, vice-president and petroleum engineer, to manager of Ryder Scott Canada, based in Calgary. Thompson received a BS in petroleum engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology, and has more than 14 years of oil and gas industry experience.

Founded in 1937, Ryder Scott is one of the largest independent petroleum-reservoir consulting firms in the world. The firm has 64 petroleum engineers and geoscientists, and performs about 1,000 studies annually.

Norwich, UK, has appointed Mark Hewett as managing director of its subsidiary, Team Energy Resources Ltd. Hewett, who joined UWG Group in 1995, previously had worked for British Gas, Shell, and Amoco. He is a graduate in oil technology from Imperial College, London.

Team Energy Resources Ltd. is a contract hire personnel company.

UWG Group is comprised of UWG Ltd., Team Energy Resources Ltd., Claxton Engineering Ltd., and 2H Offshore. It provides equipment and engineering solutions for rigless well decommissioning and subsea structures, fixed and flexible riser analysis, and well construction project management.

Verano Inc.

Mansfield, Mass., has named Walter Sikora as vice-president, vulnerability services and support; and Lori Dustin as vice-president of marketing.

Sikora holds an associate degree in engineering technology from Massasoit Community College, a BS in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, and is currently an MBA candidate at the Gordon Institute of Tufts University. He was with Foxboro for 21 years before joining Verano.

Dustin, who has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of management roles in several technology industries, most recently served as vice-president of marketing and sales for Cerylion Inc. She holds a BS in marketing management from Bentley College, and has completed the American Electronics Association Executive MBA program at Stanford University.
