Carlyss, La., has appointed Craig Milburn as operations manager for Global Divers, based in New Iberia, La.; Bill Alexander as business development manager-North America, based in Houston; Rob Tissington as business development manager-West Africa, based in Lagos, Nigeria; and Clive R. Makinson-Sanders as director of projects-global Mexico, based in Ciudad Del Carmen.

Milburn joined Global in 1982, after attending the University of Oregon and the Commercial Diving Center in Los Angeles,. He has been a diver, supervisor, superintendent, and project manager in the US and Asia Pacific.

Alexander has over 23 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, and most recently served as senior vice-president for business development with Crescent Drilling & Production Inc.

Tissington, formerly with CSO Aker Marine, has over 20 years of experience in engineering and business development in the marine construction industry.

Makinson-Sanders was previously with General Electric. He has over 25 years of experience in the marine construction industry.

Global Industries Ltd. provides pipeline construction, platform installation and removal, diving services, and other marine support to the oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East/India, South America, and Mexico's Bay of Campeche.

Gas Processors Association

Tulsa, has named J.P. Herrin as the 65th recipient of the Hanlon Award, the highest honor in the gas processing industry.

Herrin, a technological pioneer in the gas processing industry, received his chemical engineering degree from Oklahoma State University. His career included service with Sinclair Oil & Gas Co., Texas Petro Gas Co., and Coastal States Gas Producing Co., which became Valero Energy. While with Coastal States, he was directly responsible for the design, engineering, and construction of 21 gas liquids extraction plants, and eight treating plants. One of those plants was the world's first deep-cut, turbo-expander plant. Herrin also was heavily involved in innovative developments in gas treating.

Gas Processors Association is a non-profit trade association with global membership composed of corporations that are engaged in processing natural gas into merchantable pipeline gas, volume movement, or further processing of liquid products from natural gas.

ABB Ltd.

Zurich, has announced the merger of its Process, Manufac turing, and Consumer Industries Divisions to form the Industries Division, a move reflecting changes in the marketplace. Dinesh Paliwal, former head of the Process Industries Division, has been named group executive vice-president to head the new division.

Paliwal holds a masters degree in paper science and engineering from Roorkee University in India, as well as masters degrees in applied science and engineering, and business administration from Miami (Ohio) University. He joined ABB in 1985, and has held positions in engineering, sales, marketing, and management in Australia, China, Singapore, Switzerland, and the US.

In Norwalk, Conn., the new Industries Division announced appointments of Bradley Kramer as senior vice-president of asset management services, and R. Todd Jarvis as vice-president of asset management services.

Kramer holds a bachelors degree in finance from Arizona State University. He has held positions with Chase Bank, Shearson/Lehman, and most recently as managing director of Honeywell's Manage Ability Business.

Jarvis earned his bachelors degree in business from Texas A&M University, and held various positions with Honeywell, most recently as global sales director of Honeywell's Manage Ability Business.

Horizon Offshore Inc.

Houston, has elected J. Louis Frank as chairman of the board. Replacing outgoing chairman James Devine, a UK national, with Frank, a US citizen, allows Horizon to meet certain US regulatory requirements relevant to a recently awarded contract. Devine remains a member of the board of directors.

Frank earned his BS in petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University, and completed the Harvard University program for management development. He held numerous positions in his 43 years with Marathon Oil Co., including serving as president of Marathon Ashland Petroleum.

Horizon Offshore Inc. provides marine construction services including installation of marine pipelines, subsea production systems, and production platforms.

Seitel Inc.

Houston, has elected Fred S. Zeidman chairman of the board, and named Kevin Fiur as president and CEO, Kevin Callaghan as executive vice-president and COO, and Robert Simon as president of Seitel Data Ltd.

Seitel Inc. markets proprietary seismic information/technology to petroleum companies. It also participates selectively in oil and natural gas exploration and development programs.

UOP LLC

Des Plaines, Ill., has announced a reorganization of its business in order to have an organization that is customer-centric, with global capability of meeting future customer needs in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

The new organization will have four strategic business units: process technology & equipment, headed by Carlos A. Cabrera; catalysts & advanced materials, headed by Norman L. Gilsdorf; adsorbents & specialties, headed by Joseph P. Ausikaitis; and ventures & business development, led by Frank Whitsura. The organization will also include several company-wide support functions.
