Houston, has named Scott Leitko as vice-president of engineering. Leitko, who has more than 17 years of experience, most recently served in management for the offshore engineering unit of KBR.

Houston, has named Scott Leitko as vice-president of engineering. Leitko, who has more than 17 years of experience, most recently served in management for the offshore engineering unit of KBR. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston.

Alliance Engineering is a subsidiary of John Wood Group plc, and specializes in engineering, design, procurement, project management, and construction management of onshore and offshore upstream oil and gas facilities and structures.

Schlumberger Ltd.

New York, has announced plans to relocate its US corporate office from New York to Houston in the second half of 2006. The move will enhance growth in its oil field services group, and consolidate the company’s presence in the Houston community.

Founded in Paris in 1926, Schlumberger began coordinating North American operations from Houston in 1934. The company currently employs more than 8,000 in the Houston area.

Calgary, has appointed Gene Stahl as chief operating officer and president, Doug Strong as chief financial officer, and Darren Ruhr as vice-president of corporate services and corporate secretary.

Danos & Curole Marine Contractors LLC

Larose, La., has completed the sale of their marine assets to Hercules Liftboat Co., Houston. The assets sold include eight liftboats, and the infrastructure connected to the company’s liftboat operation in Nigeria.

Varel International

Dallas, has announced the appointment of F. Michael Pisch as chief financial officer, William Burton as vice-president of sales and operations for Western Hemisphere-North, and David Wilson as vice-president of sales and operations for Western Hemisphere-South.

Pisch, a CPA, received his accounting degree from LaSalle University, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has more than 20 years of experience, including tenure with General Electric and Western Sky Industries.
