Houston, has announced several appointments recently. Wood Group ESP has promoted Boris Aranovich to vice-president, with responsibility for developing the company's electric submersible and surface pump activities in the CIS. Aranovich earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Oil & Gas Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Wood Group Wireline Services has promoted Robert Chuck Crosby to vice-president. Crosby was previously general manager of the company, responsible for growth of slickline operations in the US and Venezuela.

J P Kenny Inc., Wood Group subsidiary specializing in subsea and pipeline engineering, has appointed Alan Brackenridge as president and COO. Brackenridge most recently was operations director of J P Kenny Caledonia in Aberdeen.

Wood Group Pressure Control has appointed Reza Hajjari as vice-president of manufacturing, and Robert Dunn Jr. as US sales manager.

Houston, has appointed Steven E. Larson as vice-president of reservoir description services, based in Houston; John Ebbern as business development manager, based in Aberdeen; and Darrel Jackson as manager of the company's new office in Calgary.

Larson, with 27 years of experience, holds a BS degree in physics from the University of Houston, and an MBA from Rice University.

Ebbern has 29 years of industry experience, and holds a BS in geology from Cardiff University.

Geotrace Technologies Inc. is an integrated, reservoir services company that provides subsurface imaging solutions to the oil and gas industry.

Aberdeen, has appointed Matt Abell as performance engineering manager in its Houston office, and announced opening of an office in Dubai to serve its clients and contractors in the Middle East.

Abell has 8 years of experience in well operations, and has been working in the Gulf of Mexico for the last three years.

Plymouth, UK, has announced the appointment of Steve McCoy as oil and gas marketing manager. McCoy holds a PhD and undergraduate degree in metallurgy.

Fine Tubes manufactures seamless, welded, and drawn stainless steel, nickel, and titanium alloy tubes, with products including control lines for chemical injection, hydraulic and data logging, and umbilical tubes.

Charles River Associates (CRA) Inc.

Boston, has announced that Panos E. Cavoulacos has joined the firm as a vice-president, and will be a leading member of CRA's European energy practice. Cavoulacos, a recognized expert in upstream and midstream oil and gas, power generation, and energy trading and marketing, holds BS and MS degrees in nuclear engineering, and an MBA and PhD in energy economics, all from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He formerly was vice-president and managing partner of Booz Allen Hamilton's Paris office.

Houston, has realigned its tubular technology and services business unit, integrating its marine products and services unit, and its XL Systems product line. Named president of Tubular Technology is David Black, formerly vice-president of operations for ReedHycalog. He also had worked for Schlumberger, and Camco.

Grant Prideco Inc. is a leader in drill stem technology development, and drill pipe manufacturing, sales, and service; a leader in drill bit technology; and a leading provider of high-performance engineered connections and premium tubular products and services.

EMS Pipeline Services

Houston, has named Tim H. Nesler as chief executive officer, Arthur R. Robbins as chief strategy and information officer, Harvey L. Schnitzer as chief financial officer, Sumner W. Buzz White as chief operating officer, William E. Rome as vice-president and COO of pipeline services, and Jon D. Simunek as vice-president of commercialization and corporate planning.

The company also announced its acquisition of Houston-based Hanover Measurement Services, a leading provider of pipeline measurement services and technologies.
