Before joining Knowledge Systems, Brady was corporate marketing manager for Calgary-based Precision Drilling Corp. He holds a BS degree in professional geology from Louisiana State University, and an MBA in marketing from the University of Houston.

Knowledge Systems provides software, geopressure consulting, and training programs to E&P companies worldwide.

Furmanite

Dallas, has acquired Flowserve’s General Services Group (GSG), with its operations in Belgium, the Netherlands, UK, and US. GSG is a single-source provider of maintenance, repair, and distribution services for a broad array of valves, piping systems, and other process system components.

Furmanite, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xanser Corp., is a specialty industrial services company, with expertise in onsite and online plant and pipeline maintenance.

Baker Hughes Inc.

Houston, has announced the formation of a new Permanent Monitoring Group with the acquisitions of Luna Energy, QuantX Wellbore Instrumentation, and Nova Technology Corp. These acquisitions bring to Baker Hughes a portfolio of electronic and fiber optic gauges, along with a broad service network for deploying permanent gauges, and chemical injection systems around the world.

In support of the new focus, the company has promoted Joe Vandevier to president of Production Optimization, and appointed Steve Hester as vice-president and general manager of the Permanent Monitoring Group.

Aberdeen, has announced the following management changes: Kenny Watt has been named general manager of BJ Tubular & Completion Assembly Services. He replaces Neil Gordon, who was recently promoted to division manager of BJ Tubular & Completion Assembly Services and region manager-Europe and Africa for the Well Services Div. Ken Stewart has been promoted to operations manager for BJ Completion Assembly Services. He replaces Iain Anderson, who has moved to Bangkok as operations manager-Thailand for BJ Tubular & Completion Assembly Services.

Houston, has elected John D. Carne as senior vice-president. He will retain his position as president of Cooper Cameron Valves.

Carne joined Cooper Energy Services in 1971, and has held positions with the company primarily in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Cooper Cameron Corp. is a leading international manufacturer of oil and gas pressure control equipment for onshore, offshore, and subsea oil and gas drilling, production, and transmission applications, and provides oil and gas separation, metering, and flow measurement equipment. Houston, has announced the appointment of Robert R. (Randy) Harl as president and chief operating officer, and member of the board of directors. Harl has over 30 years of industry experience with Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR), serving most recently as chairman, president and CEO.

Houston, has appointed Rob Jessen as global leader of the company’s oil & gas industry sector.

Jessen earned a BS degree in business administration at the University of California, Berkeley, and pursued postgraduate studies in accounting at California State University, Hayward. He previously worked for Capgemini, and for Ernst & Whinney, predecessor firm to Ernst & Young.

Ernst & Young LLP is a global provider of professional services, with core competencies of auditing, accounting, tax, and transactions. The company’s Energy Center in Houston provides quality assurance, tax, transaction and risk management services to oil and gas, chemical, and utility companies.

Woodlands, Tex., has elected Philip K. Asherman as president and chief executive officer, and Jerry H. Ballengee as non-executive chairman. These appointments follow the terminations of Gerald M. Glenn as chairman, president, and CEO, and Robert B. Jordan as executive vice-president and COO.

Asherman holds an undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, and a master’s degree from Tufts University.

Ballengee has a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech University, and an MBA from Xavier University. He has been a member of CB&I’s supervisory board since 1997.
