New York, has expanded into the oil and gas sector with the appointments of three top analysts formerly of IHS Herold: Anthony Montano III, Daniel Pratt, and John Malone. Montano comes to Ticonderoga with more than 20 years of investment research experience and has covered all facets of the energy chain since 1995. Previously, he was a vice-president and senior energy equity analyst at IHS Herold, where he covered exploration and production companies. Montano was previously with such firms as Access Securities, TIAA-CREF Investment Management, and the IBM Retirement Fund. He has a BA in economics/management from Manhattanville College and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business. Pratt joins Ticonderoga as director of energy research, covering equities in the E&P sector. Previously, he spent 12 years at John S. Herold Inc., acquired by IHS in 2007, and most recently served as vice-president of equity research. He has a BA in economics and finance from the University of Rochester. Prior to Ticonderoga, Malone was vice-president and senior strategy analyst at IHS Herold. Before that, he was a vice-president with MMC Energy and an energy consultant with Poten & Partners. As a field geologist, Malone has conducted exploration work in the Middle East, North Atlantic, and the US. He has a BA in international relations from Lehigh University and a PhD in geology from Trinity College Dublin.

Vallourec,

Boulogne-Billancourt, France, has acquired Serimax in a deal valued at €150 million. The acquisition complements Vallourec's existing line pipe operations, and the deal means the two companies will be able to offer combined pipe manufacturing and welding services. Serimax will continue as an autonomous business unit within the Vallourec Group and will continue to provide welding for all types of pipes and clients.

Serimax is an international full service welding company, which plans, designs, manages, and provides fully integrated offshore welding solutions in the most extreme conditions and challenging environments.

Vallourec is a world leader in premium tubular solutions primarily serving the energy markets, as well as other industrial applications.
