Pembina Pipeline halts certain Canadian operations around active wildfires

Pembina Pipeline Corp. has temporarily shut down some of its assets in Canada due to ongoing wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia.

Pembina Pipeline Corp. has temporarily shut down some of its assets in Canada due to ongoing wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia.

Assets currently shut down include the Saturn I and II gas plants at the Saturn complex north of Hinton, Alta., and the Duvernay complex, west of Fox Creek, Alta., with a combined processing capacity of 443 MMcfd (net to Pembina), the company said in a release May 8. Various related pump stations, gathering systems, and other supporting infrastructure are also shut down, it continued.

The Wapiti gas plant, KA plant, and K3 plant, as well as the Peace pipeline system 20-in. line from Fox Creek, Alta., to Edmonton, Alta., were previously shut down, but have now been safely restarted, according to Pembina.

Pembina said it is not aware of any material damage to its assets and will continue to monitor the situation.
