CNOOC starts production from secondary development project offshore China

CNOOC Ltd. has started production from the Suizhong 36-1/Luda 5-2 oilfield secondary adjustment and development project in Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea.

CNOOC Ltd. has started production from the Suizhong 36-1/Luda 5-2 oilfield secondary adjustment and development project in Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea.

The project, in average water depth of about 30 m, includes two new central processing platforms and two new wellhead platforms. Development is expected to include 118 wells, including 81 production wells and 37 water-injection wells. Peak production of about 30,300 b/d of crude oil is expected in 2025.

The project, noted by CNOOC as “the largest secondary development and adjustment project” offshore China, is developed using power from shore.

CNOOC is operator of the project with 100% interest.
