Chariot Ltd. has started drilling operations at the Loukos exploration license onshore Morocco with the spudding of the RZK-1 well on the Gaufrette prospect.
Loukos covers about 1,371 sq km and lies adjacent to Chariot’s Lixus and Rissana offshore licenses, the former of which contains the Anchois gas discovery and development project (OGJ Online, Jan. 21, 2022; Mar. 8, 2023).
The main target has best estimate recoverable prospective resources of 10 bcf. An optional deeper target has been identified on newly reprocessed 3D seismic data.
Chariot is operator of the license with 75% interest (OGJ Online, Aug. 2, 2023). The Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) holds the remaining 25%.
