PDO extends seismic acquisition contract in Oman

By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, Oct. 12 -- Petroleum Development Oman has awarded CGGVeritas a multiyear extension of its contract undertaking high-productivity, high-density onshore seismic acquisition in Oman.

The Paris-based geophysical company will increase the number of its active vibrator fleets working in the country and will double crew capacity to 25,000 channels.

Work under the new configuration will commence in early January and is expected to continue through the first quarter of 2011. The enhanced crew configuration follows a recent update to 24-hour operations in Oman.
