Ultra Petroleum Corp. has announced the retirement of William Picquet, senior vice-president, operations, effective at the end of April 2014.

Picquet will be succeeded by Brad Johnson, who joined Ultra in 2008 and most recently served as vice-president, reservoir engineering and development. Johnson has more than 19 years of industry experience and, prior to joining Ultra, held various engineering and leadership positions with Anadarko Petroleum Corp. He holds a master's of science in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas, and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and Pennsylvania.

Picquet joined Ultra in 2005 as vice-president, operations, and was promoted to senior vice-president, operations in 2011. Prior to that, he held numerous engineering and managerial roles with exploration and production companies across North America.
