Houston, has named Barbara L. Thompson director of business development.

Houston, has named Barbara L. Thompson director of business development. Thompson holds a BS degree in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University. She served as principal naval architect for Barnett & Casbarian Inc. and most recently was director of business development for ABB Lummus Global.

Paragon Engineering Services provides front-end engineering, detailed design, project management, procurement, construction management, and inspection and training services. Its expertise encompasses oil and gas production and treating, gas compression, onshore and offshore pipelines, onshore facilities, offshore platforms, floating production/storage and offloading facilities, subsea systems, and safety and environmental management programs.

Cotta Transmission Co. LLC

has moved from Rockford, Ill., to a new 70,000 sq ft plant in Beloit, Wisc.

Cotta manufactures a broad range of power transfer products, including custom designed speed reducers and increasers, transfer cases, custom gear drives, heavy duty pump drives, and transmission mounted transfer cases for a variety of industries.

GeoQuest

Houston, has acquired the London-based petroleum engineering firm, Baker Jardine & Associates (BJA). BJA, formed in 1986, is a provider of software tools, IT consulting, and integrated solutions focused on increasing oil and gas production.

GeoQuest, an operating unit of Schlumberger Oilfield Services, serves the E&P industry with integrated software systems and data management solutions to assist client companies optimize the value of their oil and gas reserves.

Foster Wheeler Corp.

Clinton, N.J., has announced that Gregory F. Hartnett has been appointed senior vice-president-EPC power at its subsidiary, Foster Wheeler USA Corp. He spent over 20 years with Fluor Daniel, most recently serving as vice-president and general manager at Duke/Fluor Daniel's Aliso Viego, Calif., office.

Foster Wheeler provides a broad range of design, engineering, construction, manufacturing, project development and management, research, plant operations, and environmental services.

Kadon Electro Mechanical Services Ltd.

Calgary, has opened a new 44,000 sq ft rotating equipment repair center and reliability center of excellence.

Kadon, founded in 1977, is a supplier of aftermarket turbomachinery repair, electric motor repair, engineering services, and predictive maintenance instrumentation solutions. The company's services are used by many industries, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, pipelines, power generation, and mining.

ABB Totalflow and eLynx Technologies

Bartlesville, Okla., and Tulsa, respectively, have announced an alliance for coordinating fieldwide data collection from Totalflow devices and distributing the information across the web for use at multiple locations throughout a customer company.

eLynx launched its web-based field automation system in January 2001.

Totalflow is a manufacturer of electronic flow meters used in the natural gas industry and in the oil and gas liquids industry.

TerraMar Managers Inc.

Metairie, La., has announced the appointment of Anisse Gee Peters as comptroller and general manager of the firm. Peters is a graduate of the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and has held various management positions prior to joining TerraMar.

TerraMar Managers Inc. is an oil field service company providing marine project management for shipyard upgrades and repairs to derrick and lay barges, supply boats, drill rigs, and tugs, as well as logistics management for the movement of oil field cargoes offshore and worldwide.
