RUSSIA

Russia's North East Petroleum Operating Agency (NEPO) has called for comments from international oil companies about proposed lease sale terms for tenders ending next spring of Primagadan area off Magadan oblast in Okhotsk Sea and East Khatyrka area off Chukotka in the Bering Sea (OGJ, May 10. p. 21).

The comments also are to influence later offerings of 14 other offshore areas in the Russian Far East. Halliburton Energy Services, Houston, is coordinating responses and forwarding remarks to NEPO.

Bidders for East Khatyrka acreage must qualify by Mar, 15, 1994, and submit bids by Mar. 29 in time for sale day on Mar. 30. Primagadan bidders must qualify by Mar. 31 and submit bids by Apr. 14 for sale day on Apr. 15.

Winners are to be announced Apr. 15 for East-Khatyrka acreage and May 2 for Primagadan.

MICHIGAN

Michigan gas production from Devonian Antrim shale is expected to rise sharply the next few years.

Producers of Antrim gas in Michigan's Lower Peninsula expect production capacity to reach as much as 600 MMcfd by 1996, compared with the present 280 MMcfd, reports Michigan Oil & Gas News, Mt. Pleasant.

A pipeline in mid November reduced gas takes due to high line pressures and knocked off line a plant that extracts carbon dioxide from the Antrim gas. The pipeline was considering several solutions, one of which is looping several portions of its system.

ARKANSAS

Seeco Inc., Oklahoma City, has staked a Cambro-Ordovician Arbuckle deep test in White Oak field of Franklin County.

The 1 Spillway, in 14 10n-27w, 2 miles north of Ozark, is projected to 6,300 ft.

WYOMING

Union Pacific Resources Co. has completed a horizontal well producing oil from Upper Cretaceous Niobrara in Dale field of Laramie County.

The 1H Beartooth, in 17-15n 63w, 6 miles northwest of Burns, averaged 321 b/d of oil and 74 b/d of water during 29 days on production in August 1993, according to state figures cited by Petroleum Information. True vertical depth was to have been 7,643 ft.

Dale field is 2 3 miles southeast of Silo field. UPRC's Dale field discovery well, 1H Bronco State, has made about 54,000 bbl of oil, 15 MMcf of gas, and 12,000 bbl of water from Niobrara in eight months on production, PI noted.

MONTANA

Shell Western E&P Inc. has completed a horizontal well producing oil from Ordovician Red River in giant Pennel field.

The 24X 28B Pennel Unit, in 28 7n 60e, Fallon County, flowed 268 b/d of oil, 60 Mcfd of gas, and 40 b/d of water from an undisclosed open hole internal.

Shell previously completed another horizontal well in the area and has locations staked nearby for two more.

Texaco Exploration & Production Inc. has completed a horizontal well producing oil from Mississippian Amsden in Big Wall field.

The 16B BNRR, in 19 10n-27e, Musselshell County, pumped 201 bbl of oil and 2,727 bbl of water in 16 hr from Amsden at about 2,419 ft true vertical depth, Petroleum Information reported.

NORTH DAKOTA

Conoco Inc.'s February 1993 Mississippian Lodgepole deeper pool discovery well in Dickinson field has produced 285,685 bbl of oil and 164 MMcf of gas in 234 days, the North Dakota Geological Survey notes.

Conoco completed the well, in 32 140n 96w, for an initial potential of 2,045 b/d and 1.164 MMcfd of gas from Lodgepole at about 9, 800 ft.

Various reports indicate the company has completed two producing wells from among three offsets and drilled a fourth offset whose disposition is unclear.
