Landmark

Landmark Software and Services, a Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) business line, has acquired Neftex Petroleum Consultants Limited, a UK-based company specializing in sequence stratigraphy-based products and consulting for subsurface risk reduction. The Neftex Earth Model integrates millions of data points to deliver an unrivaled global overview of the geological history and resource development of the earth.

Faster and increased exploration success is at the heart of operators' business and financial performance. Since its inception, Landmark has introduced innovative technologies to deliver a step change in exploration outcomes. Neftex's consistent 4D "digital model" of the subsurface is driven by a unique and proprietary global sequence stratigraphy framework. This allows geoscientists for the first time to use a single global platform to search, discover, analyze and integrate geoscience data and interpretations essential to understanding and managing subsurface risk.

The Neftex Earth Model Base Module provides essential tectonic and stratigraphic data and framework interpretations needed to underpin regional exploration. Additional Neftex Earth Model Modules deliver supplementary licensed datasets for each region across the globe. The value this content brings to operators is the ability to compare stratigraphic sequences for a particular basin with other basins around the world during the same time period. This allows for an improved ability to predict outcomes based on the performance of proven basins. Operators will be able to identify potential exploration prospects based not just in the basin of interest, but also within the context of a global framework reference.

"Landmark constantly innovates to improve exploration accuracy and success, and lower the risk involved in development and production. We believe the next step change will be achieved by integrating high-quality and trusted expert data interpretations with the exploration science embedded in application software," said Nagaraj Srinivasan, vice president of Landmark Software and Services. "The integration of the Landmark and Neftex technology suites will result in a digital subsurface representation that is uniquely tied to one stratigraphic model and delivered instantly for any region in the world. Customers should increase the reliability of their modeling efforts and accelerate the search for new reserves, a critical capability in driving upstream business performance."

By integrating data and interpretations from the Neftex Earth Model with the DecisionSpace® application platform, Landmark expects to improve its customers' ability to explore more prospects faster, and obtain subsurface insight to better predict the probability of drilling success.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced that the company has earned recognition from the ports of both Long Beach and Los Angeles, California, for its efforts to ensure compliance with standards that call for vessels to slow down within 40 nautical miles (nm) of the shore.

The Port of Long Beach introduced the Green Flag Program and Port of Los Angeles the Vessel Speed Reduction Program. The programs urge vessel operators to slow down to 12 knots or less within a certain range of the ports to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx), and sulfur oxide (SOx) in coastal areas to conserve coastal environment, and offer annual rewards to vessel operators that achieve extraordinary compliance percentages.

Every year, a total of 250 MOL Group-operated vessels including containerships calling at MOL's TRAPAC container terminal, as well as car carriers, tankers, and bulkers, navigate through the area covered by the speed standards. The ports have clearly appreciated the company's efforts to comply with the program and contribute to a cleaner coastal environment.

MOL continually contributes to environmental conservation not only in this area, but also at other ports all over the world, and takes proactive environmental steps on a global scale.

NK Technologies

NK Technologies has introduced the new AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer. The AT/ATR-LS combines a current transformer and signal conditioner that is great for monitoring large loads. The AT/ATR-LS is easy to install due to a large, split-core design that can be installed over existing conductors without disconnecting the load, even in applications with multiple conductors per phase.

The AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer is ideal for monitoring large machines as it measures the current use to detect over or under current conditions. For water delivery and treatment, the AT/ATR-LS detects open discharge lines and can see clogged filters or blocked pump intakes. In generators, it keeps the power system running by monitoring output, and can be used to signal over loaded conditions.

The new AT/ATR-LS Current Transducer features industry standard output, loop-power, factory calibration, a split-core case and DIN rail mount. The transducer uses two wires to connect to the power supply and the load: programmable logic controller, panel meter or data acquistion system. Designed to meet UL, CUL, and CE requirements, the AT/ATR-LS can be used worldwide. NK Technologies offers no-cost test and evaluation units to qualifying OEMs.

Profire Energy, Inc.

Profire Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFIE), a technology company which manufactures, installs and services burner management systems and other combustion technologies for the oil and gas industry, has unveiled a new product for use in oilfield flare stack environments, the Flare Stack Igniter (FSI). Flare stacks are used throughout the industry to burn off unwanted natural gas.

Profire currently resells various burners and pilots that are often used with the Company's burner management system (BMS); however, the Company has not historically offered a pilot specifically for flare-stack environments.

"Flare stacks are historically very challenging for producers to manage," said Stephen Pitcher, a career rocket- and aerospace-scientist who was lead engineer on the project. "Although the flare stacks are often installed in extremely harsh environments, they are also a subject of regulatory scrutiny, as their pilots are often expected to maintain constant flame-a significant challenge for much of the industry. Our FSI offers a reliable, powerful solution to help finally solve this industry problem."

By extending Profire's product-line with the FSI, the Company can now offer a proprietary pilot for flare stack environments. The Company also sells flare ignition systems designed specifically for such environments, such as the Company's PF2100F or PF1300 Flare Ignition Systems. The price-point and costs of the FSI are expected to help enhance the Company's product-margin.

"The launch of the FSI further demonstrates our responsiveness to the industry's needs," said Harold Albert, Chief Operating Officer of Profire. "Much of the industry is using flare-stack igniters that struggle to stay operational in intense flare environments. Our FSI has been designed to perform exceptionally in these environments. Its orifice size, core assembly, composition, reliable flame-sensing, and ease-of-installation all combine to make it a robust, powerful igniter for the industry."

The Company has installed dozens of systems for testing throughout North America, in various environments, with no incidents of product-failure. Real-world and simulated tests of harsh weather environments-including torrential rain tests, and wind tests of nearly

200 MPH-were also performed, with the FSI maintaining a constant flame throughout testing.

Profire Energy assists energy production companies in the safe and efficient production and transportation of oil and natural gas. Profire Energy has offices in Lindon, Utah; Houston, Texas; Victoria, Texas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Tioga, Pennsylvania; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
