Statoil has published an updated crude oil assay for its Peregrino field, which began producing second-quarter 2011 from licenses BMC-7 and BMC-47 in 100 m of water 53 miles off Brazil in the Campos basin.

Statoil has published an updated crude oil assay for its Peregrino field, which began producing second-quarter 2011 from licenses BMC-7 and BMC-47 in 100 m of water 53 miles off Brazil in the Campos basin (OGJ Online, Apr. 11, 2011).

Operated by Statoil (60%) in partnership with China's Sinochem Group (40%), Peregrino field produces about 100,000 b/d of heavy, high-sulfur, high-viscosity crude oil (OGJ Online, Apr. 15, 2011).

Plans to develop a second phase of the field are under way, with a final investment decision on the project due by yearend 2014, according to a Feb. 20, 2014, release from Statoil Brazil.
