Real-Time 3d visualization service updated

Turning wellbore-related data into real-time imagery for enhanced well planning and optimization, directional drilling, and reservoir navigation is now part of this firm's digital oil field offerings through its WellLink 3D visualization service.

Users can now see a real-time synopsis of their drilling environment, including Earth models and tool diameters, the firm notes. Well data are viewable within its geologic context allowing operators to make real-time corrections of well trajectory and drilling parameters, helping to optimize wellbore placement and maximize reservoir contact.

The visualization service helps:

• Improve understanding of real-time measurements by displaying them in geologic context.

• Minimize risk through better understanding of the formation and its relationship with the wellbore.

• Provide better understanding of available space between offset well paths and the planned or actual well path for anticollision planning.

New remote alert monitor

A new remote alert monitoring system (R.A.M.S.) is designed for use within secondary containment.

It is capable of monitoring high and low fluid levels and high and low temperature levels. The system can be upgraded to monitor pressure alarms, compressor shutdowns, and tank levels.

If a spill occurs at a traditional containment site, the R.A.M.S. unit notifies you about the spill almost immediately, the firm says. When it detects high fluid levels, the unit sends a text message and-or email to everyone in the R.A.M.S. contact list. At this point you are able to recognize which location the alert came from and be provided turn by turn directions to the site through your map software. The self-contained system includes one sensor that measures temperatures and fluid levels, one solar charger, and one 20-year battery. The unit is plug and play compatible for up to four additional sensors (optional).
