Engineering, manufacturing software upgrades

There are a number of upgrades in the aspenONE product suite in V7.3 engineering as well as manufacturing and supply chain software.

Engineering upgrade:

• For exploration and production there's a new, patent-pending conceptual design builder in Aspen HYSYS Upstream that builds gas oil separation plant models in minutes, reducing risk when evaluating upstream asset design options. Also plate-fin exchanger and spiral-wound exchanger models allow E&P companies to optimize liquid natural gas plants, analyze operational challenges, and deliver solution alternatives.

• For refining, the new assay library of 180 crudes enables refiners to characterize multiple crudes more accurately and efficiently, by converting from HYSYS Oil Manager to HYSYS Petroleum Refining assays with the click of a button. The fired heater equipment models inside HYSYS allow refiners to study operating constraints, predict revamp benefits, and increase energy savings, quickly analyzing crude selection opportunity.

• For faster time-to-value, Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus help make it faster and easier to comply with CO2 and greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting requirements.

Manufacturing and supply chain upgrade:

• For the petroleum supply chain, Aspen Petroleum Scheduler and Aspen MBO help increase user productivity and ease of use with a fully integrated Microsoft Excel interface. Enhanced diagnostics in MBO and Aspen PIM software save time and costs, the firm says. Improved blend recipe functionality in MBO enables more accurate blends, which allows refiners to meet tighter product specifications. Aspen Petroleum Supply Chain Planner delivers improved analytics and decision support by enhanced case comparison analysis. Aspen IMOS functionality enables more effective scheduling of rail car shipments.
