New natural gas generator

A new 1,300 kw natural gas model generator in this firm's fleet adds a new option for companies needing quick and effective short-term power generation.

This model features the new Columbus, Ind.-based Cummins Inc. QSK60 gas engine, which is among the latest in emissions-control engine technology within the temporary utility market. The unit joins a fleet of low-emission natural gas reciprocating generators, which ranges from 65 to 1,300 kw.

The new model includes sound reduction for quiet operation, smokeless output, and a save-all containment base that helps reduce the risk of fluid leakage. The new V-16 (16 cylinder) gas engine has turbocharging and low temperature aftercooling. Units can also be scaled up or down, allowing capacity to change with demand.

Modular design, standardized in 20 ft ISO containers, allows for easy transportation and flexible installation, the company notes.

New trunnion mounted ball valve

Here's the new M&J branded ball valve that provides positive shutoff in oil and gas pipelines.

The valve incorporates a version of the patented "EN" style seat seal currently used in the M-303 gate valve. A combination nylon and elastomer seal in the same face groove acts as the main seal in high and low pressure differential conditions. Seat rings are spring loaded for low pressure sealing. The valve is offered in 6-42 in. sizes, 150-1,500 ANSI pressure classes, and has a standard operating temperature range of –20° to +250° F.

The valve's design includes internal trunnion blocks that eliminate the need for the lower ball trunnion to penetrate the body cavity, preventing a possible leak path. The trunnions are integral with the ball and are precisely fitted into TFE lined bearing blocks supported within the body.
