New digital slick line services

New LIVE digital slick line services feature a slick line cable engineered to deliver two-way digital communication.

Coupled with a suite of purpose-built downhole modules, LIVE technology enables tool and well information to be measured and transmitted to surface in real time. Services enable producers to manage well intervention and workover programs with increased knowledge, accuracy, and certainty when running slick line, the firm notes. While maintaining the benefits of standard slick line simplicity, digital slick line provides a new level of real-time precision and control to an expanded range of services, delivering an increased level of quality, safety, and efficiency, the company says.

In parallel with LIVE slick line, a number of purpose-built downhole tools have been developed with all data available at surface in real time. Basic tool measurements include tool string shock, deviation, movement, and head tension. Additional measurements of gamma ray and casing collar location help enable precise depth correlation relative to reservoir or completion architecture. The option of borehole pressure and temperature measurements is also available.

A surface-controlled interactive jar and tool release device brings precision to any slick line jarring and fishing operation. To complete the digital slick line platform, additional tools have been developed, capitalizing on telemetry functionality and control capabilities. These allow electrohydraulic explosive-free tool setting, surface-activated perforation control, and complete production logging to be carried out safely and efficiently, the company points out.

Product allows rigless retrieval of downhole pumps

The new ZEiTECS Shuttle permits rigless retrieval and redeployment of conventional electric submersible pumps.

The tool permits rigless retrieval and redeployment of conventional electric submersible pumps (up to 562 series) through tubing via standard oil field wireline, rod, or coil tubing. The firm says its technology permits operators wherever they work (land, platform, underwater) for live or subhydrostatic wells to increase hydrocarbon recovery, optimize production, and reduce operating expenditure throughout field life. The technology permits faster well production recovery as a result of unscheduled ESP system failure.

Features include:

• Increased production through lower deferment.

• Improved oil recovery.

• Fewer hoist supported workovers.
