New noise attenuation option for type fl regulators

The new Tartarini Type SRII and SRS silencer options for Type FL regulators promise an efficient noise prevention solution for natural gas transmission or distribution installations.

Types SRS and SRII silencer options are available for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6-in. (DN 25, 50, 80, 100, 150), as well as a new 8-in. (DN 200) size. Noise reduction of as much as 20 db(A) can be achieved, depending on the application. As a source treatment, the SRS and SRII silencers utilize multiple orifices of special size, shape, and spacing that help reduce noise-producing interactions and offers an alternative to path treatment or buried service. The firm says that units already installed can be easily retrofitted with a Type SRII or Type SRS.

New heat detection system

Newly launched FireLaser linear heat detection system is specifically designed for fire hazard detection applications.

The system connects to a fiber optic cable and determines temperature and distance data at thousands of points along its length. The fiber optic cable is installed within the asset to be protected, acting as the temperature sensor.

FireLaser can detect a hot spot on the cable up to 4 km. The firm says the unit can precisely monitor development of hot spots to within 1 m and provides a superior and cost effective fire detection solution to copper-based multipoint linear heat detection alternatives.

The fiber optic cable, which is suited for use in hazardous conditions, can detect changes of temperatures of less than 1o C. in 3 sec.

Flame detectors now come with ATEX approval

Model 3600-L/LB UV/IR optical flame detectors—now with ATEX approval—monitor for flames from gasoline, methane, heptanes, ethanol, and diesel fuel.

Detectors sense the radiant energy of the flame in a short wave section of the ultraviolet and infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Signals from both sensors are analyzed for frequency, intensity, and duration.

Features include:

• UV/IR dual sensor.

• High speed response of 150 ms.

• Solar blind.

• Heated window for operation in harsh environments.

• Multiple outputs: relays, 0-20 ma, HART, Modbus RTU (RS-485).

• Reliable with a minimum of 150,000 hr mean time between failures.
