Houston, has named its core management group. CEO and Pres. L. Dwayne Breaux has worked on nearly all types of floating facilities, including tension leg platforms, semisubmersibles, and spars, and in fabrication and construction yards around the world. He has previously held positions with J. Ray McDermott and most recently served as vice-president, operations, for SBM Atlantia. He has a PhD in structural dynamics from Texas A&M University and a masters in civil structures from Louisiana Tech University. Pat McCelvey, president, Wison Offshore Leasing, will oversee lease financing structures for Wison projects and help to develop integrated technical and commercial solutions. He previously was vice-president, production and development, for Devon Energy Corp.'s international division. He has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas appraisal and development, exploration, operations, E&P process improvement, and change management and holds BS and MS degrees in civil engineering from the University of Texas. Executive Vice-Pres. Francisco Noyola has worked in the oil and gas industry for the past 20 years. His areas of expertise include the technical and commercial development of deepwater prospects. He previously led J. Ray McDermott's SparTEC Inc. and has served in positions at SBM Atlantia, Williams Cos., and Katzenbach Partners. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and MS and BS degrees in structural engineering from the University of Texas. Greg Navarre, vice-president, projects, will focus on the delivery of deepwater oil and gas facilities. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, his previous positions include a stint at Global Marine Drilling Co., where he managed the construction of deepwater drilling platforms. He is a marine engineering and naval architecture graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy. As vice-president, sales and marketing, Marshall DeLuca is primarily responsible for managing the global sales organization, generating new prospects, and establishing the company's brand in the marketplace. Over the past 15 years, he has been involved in the commercial, marketing, and technical development of deepwater floating systems worldwide. He has a degree in international trade and finance from Louisiana State University. Robert Bollich, general counsel, has nearly 20 years' experience of legal work related to delivery of platform facilities for BG PLC and SBM Atlantia. He has a JD from South Texas College of Law and is a member of the Texas State Bar Association.

Wison Floating Systems provides engineering, procurement, construction, and installation services for all types of deepwater floating drilling and production facilities. Wison Floating Systems is a subsidiary of Wison Heavy Industry (Hong Kong) Ltd., a fabrication and engineering company that owns and operates three fabrication facilities focused exclusively on offshore drilling and production projects. It is a member of the Shanghai-based Wison Group, one of China's largest corporations focusing on energy and high technology.

Fairfield, Conn., has acquired Dresser Inc., Addison, Tex., for $3 billion. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close promptly after receiving regulatory approval. Dresser offerings will mainly be integrated with GE Energy.

Dresser provides the petroleum and other industries with gas engines; monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization solutions; and pressure relief and control valve technologies.

GE is a diversified infrastructure, finance, and media company. Its GE Energy group includes oil and gas, power and water, and energy services.

Scottsdale, Ariz., has obtained full Federal Aviation Authority normal category certification for its SkyEye 350 Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350-based aerial surveillance aircraft. The SkyEye 350 successfully completed its more than 18-month design, development, modification, and integration program to earn the certification. FLIR Systems Inc.'s Star SAFIRE HD was selected to be the electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) thermal sensor for the SkyEye 350. The specially modified FLIR EO/IR sensor package and other installed systems allow the SkyEye 350 to accomplish a wide range of all-altitude tactical missions, including oil spill and pollution monitoring. In addition, ASSI has signed a joint venture agreement with Optimare NV, Bremerhaven, Germany, to further develop the SkyEye 350 into the SkyEye 350 OPTIMARE MEDUSA Oil Spill Monitoring Maritime Patrol Aircraft, a comprehensive means of detecting and tracking offshore pollution, including comprehensive oil spill monitoring and response.

ASSI handles all facets of airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and aerial surveillance and reconnaissance project development and completion.

FLIR Government Systems, a division of FLIR Systems Inc., Portland, Ore., is a world leader in the design, qualification, and manufacture of thermal imaging and stabilized EO/IR systems for a wide variety of airborne, maritime, land-based, and man-portable applications.

Optimare specializes in mission system and sensor technology for airborne maritime surveillance and related special missions.

Houston, has named Joe Hebert operations manager. Working out of InterMoor's new Morgan City, La., facility, Hebert's responsibilities will include managing the operations department on a daily basis, interfacing with clients, and project management. Hebert has more than 20 years of oil and gas experience. From starting out as a rigger, Hebert has worked as a supervisor, marine specialist, and assistant operations manager at InterMoor.

InterMoor, an Acteon company, is a leading global mooring, foundations, and subsea services company, providing solutions for rig moves and mooring services, including engineering and design, survey and positioning, fabrication, and subsea installation.

Acteon is a group of specialist engineering companies serving the global oil and gas industry.

Houston, through its AutoSeis Inc. wholly owned subsidiary, will acquire RDSeismic LLC. Ralph Muse, founder and president of RDS, will join AutoSeis as its president and lead Global's seismic equipment development activities. In 2010, RDS brought to market the high-definition recorder—a small-footprint, lightweight, autonomous nodal land seismic data recorder that delivers high data quality. Global will employ HDR as an extension and supplement to its Sercel cable telemetry systems and will seek to leverage RDS technology to develop a marine nodal system for seafloor applications. Global will take delivery of an initial 10,000 land HDR units through spring 2011 and initially deploy them on its land data acquisition programs as well as with its recently announced Global Microseismic Services business unit. The transaction is expected to close in fourth quarter 2010, subject to normal and customary closing conditions.

RD Seismic, Carrollton, Tex., develops cutting-edge autonomous nodal seismic recording systems.

Global provides an integrated suite of seismic data solutions to the global oil and gas industry, including high-resolution seismic data acquisition, microseismic monitoring, seismic data processing, and interpretation services and multiclient data products.

Oslo, has appointed Per Harald Kongelf executive vice-president for the energy development and services (ED&S) business area in Aker Solutions. He replaces Jarle Tautra, who will continue to work for Aker Solutions as a special advisor to the CEO. Kongelf previously served as EVP for Aker products and technologies (P&T). Kongelf has 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry, including senior positions in several major Norwegian North Sea field developments such as Snorre, Sleipner A, Visund, and Asgard. Aker is in the process of splitting ED&S into separate units for field development (FD) and maintenance, modifications, and operations (MMO). Tore Sjursen will lead the new MMO, while Kongelf will continue to lead FD. Sjursen will work closely with Stian Vemmestad, who leads the current MMO business. Sjursen has been with Aker Solutions for nearly 24 years in different positions in field development and MMO, most recently as head of ED&S International in Australia. In the P&T business area, Thor Arne Haverstad, president of Aker MH AS, takes over the operational responsibility for all drilling equipment businesses. He will report directly to the CEO. The remaining businesses within P&T—process systems and Pusnes—will continue to report to Kongelf for an interim period.

Oelde, Germany, has bundled the operations of its GEA Westfalia Separator Production GmbH and GEA Westfalia Separator Systems GmbH companies into mergers with GEA Westfalia Separator Process GmbH. The new company will operate as GEA Westfalia Separator Group GmbH. Markus Hullmann was named managing director, sales, in the new company and was designated successor to Hildemar Böhm, president of the GEA mechanical equipment segment.

GEA Westfalia Separator Group GmbH represents the mechanical separation business unit in GEA's mechanical equipment segment, along with the homogenizers and flow components business units.

GEA Group is one of the world's largest systems provides for energy and food processes.

Houston, has created a fifth operating division that will be responsible for the society's activities in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The divisional headquarters will be located in Shanghai, where ABS already maintains a large engineering, survey, and administrative office. Adam Moilanen has been appointed president of the new ABS Greater China Division. The existing China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan senior management teams remain in place and will form the nucleus of the new divisional executive team. The new division, which has been carved out of the existing ABS Pacific Division, will operate in coordination with the Pacific, Europe, and Americas divisions of the society and with the Nautical Systems fleet management software division. ABS is active in about 140 shipyards in China with an orderbook of almost 900 vessels aggregating about 20 million gross tons. The new divisional structure will allow ABS to better serve clients in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and elsewhere across Asia and Australasia. ABS, working in cooperation with the China Classification Society, was recently named to provide classification and certification services for the Liwan 3-1 gas field in the South China Sea—China's largest offshore natural gas discovery and its first deepwater development.

ABS is a leading international classification society devoted to promoting the security of life, property, and the marine environment through the development and verification of standards for the design, construction, and operational maintenance of marine-related facilities.

Houston, has contracted with Transform Software & Services Inc., Houston, to license key components of the latter's TerraSuite software system for imaging unconventional gas reservoirs. Transform's TerraSuite software will enhance MSI's ability to deliver high-quality interpretive microseismic information to its customers working in unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. It will enable MSI to provide microseismic information in Transform's customized, interactive viewers, making the whole process, from acquisition through analysis, more efficient and seamless for the customer. As part of the agreement, MSI's development group will have access to Transform's full technology suite to support experimentation with new microseismic event location techniques and integration with geomechanical and other data types.

MSI is a geophysical service company providing real-time monitoring and mapping of hydraulic fracture operations for the development of unconventional oil and gas plays.

Transform is a leading provider of unconventional interpretation software for the E&P industry, targeting major unconventional and traditional reservoir challenges.

Lafayette, La., has named Wes Cooper district manager to oversee its newly opened fishing services facility in Oklahoma City. The new facility provides a full line of fishing and drilling tools to accommodate both open hole and cased hole work throughout Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and parts of North Texas. Cooper has 33 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Knight is the largest privately held rental and fishing tools business in the oil and gas industry. It includes Knight Fishing Services, Knight Well Services, and Knight Manufacturing.

Houston, through a subsidiary has acquired the remaining interest in oil and gas reservoir modeling software developer JOA Oil & Gas BV, which owns and develops software for technical, scientific, and E&P applications. Baker Hughes Nederland Holdings acquired 40% of JOA Oil & Gas in 2009. JOA Oil & Gas is the developer of JewelSuite software, an integrated reservoir modeling tool that uses patented 3-D gridding technology to build accurate reservoir models for fields with complex geology. The JewelSuite software platform also provides connectivity between the generated models and reservoir simulators—a capability designed to further improve overall simulation accuracy.

Baker Hughes provides reservoir consulting, drilling, pressure pumping, formation evaluation, completion, and production products and services to the worldwide oil and gas industry.
