New density, refractive index meters for petchem use

Here's the new LiquiPhysics excellence instruments for density and refractive index determinations in petrochemical plant operations.

The new density and refractometers are simple to operate. The One Click user interface allows quick, simple, and direct access to all routine tasks and provides clear user information utilizing shortcut buttons to start routine tasks immediately. Every operator has a personalized home screen, shortcuts, and operation language. Bubble Check and other error recognition possibilities eliminate measuring errors while bar codes automatically help ensure the right measuring method is always chosen.

Operators needing to wear heavy-duty protective gloves for safety protection can start a measurement by simply waving their hand over the ErgoSense device, a special hands-free motion sensor. There is no need to touch anything. Sampling and automation units help enhance the automated analysis of even the most demanding samples, such as bunker oils. Thanks to automated cleaning procedures, operator contact with hazardous solvents is prevented.

Process plant alarm system handbook updated

The second edition of the Alarm Management Handbook offers guidelines for designing and maintaining an effective process plant alarm management system.

The book incorporate ideas presented in the new ANSI/ISA-18.2-2009 Management of Alarm Systems for the Process Industries publication—a standard that sets forth the work processes for designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining a modern alarm system in a life-cycle format.

The 2nd edition handbook offered here includes a summary of the standard's scope, regulatory impact, requirements, recommendations, and other details.

The new edition also includes additional information on benchmarking alarm system performance, developing a comprehensive alarm philosophy, solving nuisance alarm problems, and performing alarm rationalization.
