Geomodeling software adds new technology module

JewelSuite, a Windows-based geomodeling software, has integrated into the program a next-generation facies modeling technology based on multiple point statistics (MPS).

The new Impala facies modeling module is from Ephesia Consult SA, Geneva.

The company says that MPS is becoming the tool of choice for facies modeling in the exploration and production segment of the oil industry. With the Impala plug-in, JewelSuite brings the full power of MPS technology for advanced facies modeling to the oil field, the firm points out.

MPS simulation promises to generate more geological patterns than the current industry standard sequential indicator simulation, the company says.

Oil field line of lighting expanded by new lamps

The expanded line of RFL/MFL series oil industry lighting fixtures now includes T5HO lamps in addition to the current T12 and T8 options. It is also available in 1 by 4, 2 by 2, and 2 by 4 sizes with as many as 6 lamps.

The RFL/MFL series of fixtures is used where the following classifications exist:

• CI D2 Groups A, B, C, and D.

• UL 1598A inside dripproof, 844, and 924.

• CUL listed.

• Heavy hosedown.

• Hazardous location or marine only rated versions.

New reservoir simulation suite

Roxar Tempest 6.6, a newly launched integrated solution for full field reservoir simulation, guides users through the entire reservoir simulation process.

The software covers preparation and analysis of original data, compositional and black-oil simulation, results study and visualization, and economic evaluation.

Features of Tempest 6.6 include advanced processing capabilities, intuitive visualization through a graphical interface, and an integrated workflow. The result is increased productivity and accessibility within reservoir asset teams, the company says.
