The Woodlands, Tex., has opened a new office and warehouse in Shreveport, expanding its operations to better serve customers in the ArkLaTex region for oil and gas exploration and development. The facility is to be operational by August 2010.

The Woodlands, Tex., has opened a new office and warehouse in Shreveport, expanding its operations to better serve customers in the ArkLaTex region for oil and gas exploration and development. The facility is to be operational by August 2010. However, Clariant has already established a support and supply infrastructure in the Shreveport area ahead of the completion of this new facility.

Clariant is a global leader in the provision of specialty chemical products and services to the oil and gas industry for the exploration and production, pipeline, and refining markets.

Seismic Micro-Technology (SMT),

Houston, has opened a sales and support office in Rio de Janeiro. It is the company's fourth regional office to open in the past 2 years, following those in Abu Dhabi, Moscow, and Calgary. Carlos Albano, area manager, Latin America, will lead the new SMT team. He will oversee all aspects of sales and operations within Latin America. Prior to joining SMT, Albano worked as program manager for Schlumberger Russia, where he developed the project management office and project portfolios. Prior to the Russian assignment, he worked in Angola and Brazil as business development manager, where he was responsible for developing collaborative visualization solutions and infrastructure services for the local and international oil and gas operators.

SMT is a market leader for geoscience software that enables intuitive interpretation, 3D modeling, analysis, and data management in one integrated executable.

Swagelok Co.,

Solon, Ohio, has acquired RHPS BV, Nieuw Vennep, the Netherlands, as part of its strategy to broaden the company's offering of products and services for fluid system technology customers around the world. Terms weren't disclosed.

RHPS is a manufacturer of high-quality pressure regulator products used mostly in oil and gas, chemical/petrochemical, alternative fuels, semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, and other demanding applications. For more than 20 years, RHPS has been designing and manufacturing a range of relief valves, back-pressure, and pressure-reducing regulator products.

Swagelok is a major developer and provider of fluid system solutions, including products, assemblies, and services for the oil and gas, petrochemical, alternative fuels, power, semiconductor, and other industries.

Nautronix,

Aberdeen, has been acquired by SCF Partners, Houston, and members of the Nautronix senior management team. Terms weren't disclosed.

Nautronix, henceforth trading as Nautronix Group Ltd., provides subsea positioning and communications solutions and is a world leader in the design and supply of advanced underwater acoustic systems.

SCF Partners is a global private equity firm for energy services investment.
