Peritus International,

Perth, has appointed Thyl Kint global director, floating systems and Asia-Pacific field developments. Kint has more than 25 years of oil and gas experience. Previously, he worked in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia for companies that included Royal Dutch Shell Group, BP PLC, BHP Pty. Ltd., Kerr-McGee Corp., BW Offshore, and Spitfire Oil Pty. Ltd. He also spent several years managing his own oil and gas engineering consultancy and a deepwater R&D group. Having trained initially as an engineer in Belgium, Kint holds a master's in ocean engineering and business from the University of California at Berkeley and will now be based out of Peritus's Asia-Pacific office in Perth.

Peritus provides advanced subsea and floating systems engineering and project management services for field development and transportation systems to offshore projects worldwide, with a particular focus on difficult and deepwater environments. Peritus operates from regional engineering centers in Perth, Houston, and Woking, UK.

IDS,

Kuala Lumpur, has signed a collaborative agreement with Samit Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. in India. The accord will take IDS's DataNet2 firmly into the Indian market. Samit has experience introducing reporting and analysis services to the upstream industry in India, having previously worked with Landmark's flagship product, Open Wells. DataNet2 is a suite of reporting tools, based on the concept of centralizing data from drilling, geology, and completions reports that can be acquired, shared, viewed, and delivered across the web or via the client's network.

IDS provides web-delivered reporting and analysis services to the upstream oil and gas industry through its DataNet2 service.

Privately held Samit, in collaboration with its partners, has been providing technology solutions and services to upstream exploration and production companies in India since 1990.

Gas Technology Institute,

Des Plaines, Ill., has named James Marean senior program manager for its Intelligent Infrastructure initiative. He will lead efforts to assess and articulate natural gas's role and value as part of the smart energy grid. Marean comes to GTI from New York State Electric & Gas, where he spent 30 years, most recently as manager, technical support services. He has wide-ranging experience with distribution engineering, natural gas and compressed air energy storage evaluation, alternative fuel and natural gas vehicles, environmental matters, and remediation strategies. Marean has a BS in wildlife biology and an MS in fisheries biology from SUNY Environmental Science & Forestry and an MS in science education from Syracuse.
