FMC Technologies Inc.,

Houston, has appointed John T. Gremp president and COO. He will succeed Peter D. Kinnear as president. Since joining the company in 1975, Gremp has served in a variety of operations management roles, most recently as executive vice-president of energy systems. Robert L. Potter will succeed Gremp as executive vice-president of energy systems. Potter will be responsible for FMC's energy processing and energy production segments. Previously, he was senior vice-president of FMC's energy processing and global surface wellhead businesses. Potter has been with the company since 1973.

FMC also appointed Maryann T. Seaman vice-president, treasurer, and deputy CFO. Seaman has been with FMC since 1986, serving in a variety of accounting and financial positions. She was named director of investor relations and corporate development in 2003, assuming the additional responsibility for FMC's corporate communications function in 2005. Replacing her as vice-president, administration, effective April 20, 2010, is Mark J. Scott. He most recently served as senior vice-president, human resources at Dresser Inc. Scott also held executive human resources positions for Saint-Gobain Corp. and from 1990 to 1995 was the human resources director in Houston for FMC Corp., the former parent of FMC Technologies.

FMC designs, manufactures, and services subsea production and processing systems, surface wellhead systems, high-pressure fluid control equipment, measurement solutions, and marine loading systems for the oil and gas industry.

Schlumberger Ltd.,

Paris, has acquired geology software developer IGEOSS, Montpellier, France. The IGEOSS applications and expertise, focused mainly on geomechanics and structural restoration, will be integrated with existing Schlumberger software to advance customers' modeling capabilities, particularly in areas with complex geology. Founded in 2004, IGEOSS is an international provider of geomechanical solutions for subsurface modeling, 2D and 3D structural restoration, and fracture characterization of complex geologic structures.
