Buenos Aires, has announced the establishment of a US office, operating as Tecna Engineering LLC, based in Houston. The offices will be the center of development for and access to process technologies, as well as coordination of the engineering global network, and serving as a platform for international and domestic business development.

Jorge Foglietta has been named president of the Houston operations. Foglietta has more than 30 years of industry experience, and holds many patents for natural gas processing and LNG, utilizing turbo-expander technology. He most recently served with Randall Gas Technologies, a division of ABB Lummus Global.

Pride International

Houston, has named Shawn P. Vigeant as director of contracts and marketing. Vigeant joins Pride after 12 years with Diamond Offshore Drilling.

Siemens Energy & Automation Inc.

Atlanta, Ga., has announced its acquisition of Berwanger Inc., Houston-based engineering and software development firm serving the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. Berwanger, which will retain its name, will be part of the oil and gas business of Siemens Industrial Solutions & Services Group, a global leader in process automation and systems integration.

Siemens Energy & Automation Inc. is one of Siemens' operating companies in the US. Its Industrial Solutions & Services Group employs 30,000 people worldwide

Dresser-Rand Co.

Olean, NY, has acquired Aker Kværner's 50 percent interest in Multiphase Power & Processing Technologies (MppT), making Dresser-Rand the sole owner in the venture.

MppT was formed to develop and market proprietary expanders and other equipment to separate gases and liquids, and to generate power from previously wasted energy during oil and gas production. Technologies developed have enabled oil and gas producers to reduce overall size of production platforms and subsea modules.
