Apache Corp. has appointed Floyd R. Price and Rodney J. Eichler as corporate executive vice-presidents and Jon A. Jeppesen as corporate senior vice-president.

Apache makes executive-level appointments

Apache Corp. has appointed Floyd R. Price and Rodney J. Eichler as corporate executive vice-presidents and Jon A. Jeppesen as corporate senior vice-president.

Price is president of Apache Canada Ltd., Calgary. He joined Apache in 1990 as geologic manager, Midcontinent, and later served as regional exploration manager, Midcontinent.

Prior to working for Apache Canada, he served as president of Apache International.

Eichler is vice-president and general manager of Apache's Egyptian operations. He joined the company in 1993 as exploration manager, Rocky Mountains. He later served as exploration manager and then vice-president of the former Western Region and became vice-president of exploration and development, Egypt, in 1997.

Before joining Apache, Eichler worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Tenneco Oil Co., and Axem Resources Inc., Denver.

Jeppesen is in charge of Apache's Gulf Coast region, which operates in the Gulf of Mexico and coastal areas of Texas and Louisiana. He joined the company in 1993 as offshore exploration manager and became vice-president of exploration, North America, in 1994. He was named offshore vice-president in 1996.

Before coming to Apache, he served with Pacific Enterprises Oil Co., Terra Resources Inc., and Texaco Inc.

Separately, Apache has appointed Janie J. McArdle as vice-president, oil and gas marketing, and Michael J. Benson as vice-president, security.

McArdle will supervise Apache's global oil and natural gas marketing activities. Before joining Apache, she served as managing director for Aquila Europe Ltd. McArdle also held executive and management positions with Aquila Energy Marketing during 1993-2002, including vice-president, trading, and vice-president, mergers and acquisitions. She was a partner in Hesse Gas during 1991-93. During 1983-91, she held various positions in engineering, gas supply, and marketing at Houston-based Enron Corp.

Benson joined Apache in 1996 as director, security, after 8 years as an international security consultant advising large corporations and high-profile individuals. He was a member of Her Majesty's Police in the UK for 14 years. He will continue to oversee Apache's international security and travel functions.

Other moves

Elizabeth T. Wilkinson has been elected corporate vice-president and treasurer of Kerr-McGee Corp.

Wilkinson joined Kerr-McGee in November 2002. In her new position, she will supervise banking, cash management, financial services, pension and savings plan investments, and financial analysis and planning. She has nearly 19 years of finance experience.

Jeffrey L. Mitchell has joined Vanco Energy Co. of Houston as vice-president, new ventures. Mitchell will oversee new venture efforts by evaluating and securing new exploration projects for the company worldwide.

Mitchell has 30 years of experience in international exploration, with an extensive background in conventional offshore, deepwater, and onshore environments including Asia, Latin America, Europe, and Africa.

Before joining Vanco, Mitchell worked for ConocoPhillips predecessor Phillips Petroleum Co. and BHP Billiton Petroleum Pty. Ltd. Most recently, he served as general manager, international, with the former Denver-based Barrett Resources Corp., which was acquired by Williams Cos Inc., Tulsa (OGJ Online, May 7, 2001).

Vanco has a strong presence in Offshore Africa, holding 20 million net acres off the Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Madagascar, Morocco, and Namibia.
