Lone Star Steel Co.

Dallas, presented its Chief Roughneck award for 2003 to Anadarko Petroleum Corp. chairman, CEO, and president, Robert J. Allison, at a luncheon during the annual meeting of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). The lifetime achievement award has been presented each year since 1955.

Honoring Allison in a video presentation were US Vice-President, Dick Cheney; Hunt Oil Co. chairman and CEO, Ray L. Hunt; and ExxonMobil chairman, Lee R. Raymond.

T.D. Williamson Inc.

Tulsa, has announced the acquisition of Dublin, Ireland-based Better Plug Co. (BPC) Ltd.

BPC has developed autonomous pipeline isolation technology used to repair leaking valves, damaged subsea pipelines, or risers, or during offshore pipe laying, abandonment, or tie-in operations. The technology acquisition will enhance TDW's position in the offshore maintenance marketplace.

Key BPC principal and co-founder, Ciaran Early, will remain with the company in Dublin.
