Stolt Offshore SA London, has announced the appointment of Tom Ehret as chief executive officer, and Stuart Jackson as chief financial officer.

London, has announced the appointment of Tom Ehret as chief executive officer, and Stuart Jackson as chief financial officer.

Ehret has 28 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. He had served with Comex, a predecessor to Stolt Offshore, FMC Corp., and Stena Offshore. Following Stena Offshore's merger with Coflexip, he became chief operating officer of the merged company; and, when Coflexip Stena Offshore merged with Technip, he became vice-chairman of Technip-Coflexip Group and president of its offshore branch.

Jackson is a graduate chartered management accountant, with 19 years of energy sector experience. He previously had served with Marathon Oil, Lasmo, Humber Power, and NRG Energy.

Stolt Offshore is a leading offshore contractor specializing in technologically sophisticated deepwater engineering, flowline and pipeline lay, construction, inspection, and maintenance services. The company operates in Europe, the Middle East, West Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Americas.

Verano

Mansfield, Mass., has announced the appointment of Mark Ott as chief financial officer, and Breen Liblong as vice-president of software development.

Ott holds a BS degree in mathematics and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Most recently he served as CFO at Global Network Technology Services Inc. in Houston.

Liblong earned BS and MS degrees from the University of Calgary. He has more than 18 years of technology and executive management experience in the creation of Internet search and enterprise product technologies.

Ott will relocate to Verano's home office in Mansfield, while Liblong will office in the firm's Calgary office.

Verano is a provider of software for highly secure management, control, and connectivity of critical industrial operations to customers in process manufacturing, transportation, utilities, and energy industries.

NKK Corp. and Kawasaki Steel Corp.

Tokyo, have merged operations to form JFE Steel Corp., creating a new global steel giant. Heading up the new enterprise, which is a subsidiary of JFE Holdings Inc., is Fumio Sudo, president and CEO, and Masayuki Hammyo, chairman. Sudo formerly was president and CEO of Kawasaki Steel, while Hammyo was president and CEO of NKK.

Houston, has announced the addition of Francis J. Devlin to the firm as a special counsel in the energy and resources practice. Devlin, a graduate of Fordham University School of Law, has had a 30-year career with Standard Oil, Exxon, and Exxon Mobil.
