Personnel Moves and Promotions: Integrated firms promote division executives

Integrated energy firms Dynegy Inc., Houston, and KeySpan Corp., New York, have recently announced executive-level promotions.

Dynegy has named Matt K. Schatzman president and CEO of the energy convergence business.

Previously, Schatzman served as president, energy trading, for Dynegy. He joined the company in 1990 as director, transportation, after working 3 years at Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corp.

Cliff Hare, formerly senior vice-president, marketing and origination for the Southeast, was named to succeed Schatzman.

After 10 years with Southern Natural Gas Co., Hare joined NGC Corp., Dynegy's predecessor company, in 1987.

KeySpan announced two promotions effective Mar. 1.

Gerald Luterman is being promoted to executive vice-president from senior vice-president. He is keeping his position as chief financial officer.

Before joining Keyspan, Luterman was senior vice-president and chief financial officer of Arrow Electronics Inc. Before that, he held various executive positions with American Express.

John F. Haran is being promoted to senior vice-president from vice-president of New York City Gas Operations. New York City Gas Operations is a holding company created in 1998 through the merger of Brooklyn Union and Long Island Lighting Co.

Haran joined Brooklyn Union in 1972 and became Brooklyn Union's vice-president of distribution in 1996.

Other moves

Dana R. Gibbs, president of EOTT Energy Corp, Houston, has been elected to the additional position of CEO of EOTT Energy Partners LP. He succeeds Stanley C. Horton, who remains EOTT's chairman.

Most recently, Gibbs served as president and chief operating officer for EOTT and previously was executive vice-president, commercial activities.

EOTT Energy Partners is an independent marketer and transporter of crude oil. EOTT Energy Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enron Corp., is the general partner of EOTT.

Royce Ramsay has been named vice-president, operations, for Kern River Pipeline and Northwest Pipeline, announced parent Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa.

Ramsay has been director of operations for Williams's Lafayette division in Lafayette, La., for the past 5 years. He fills a vacancy that was created last month when Bob Sluder was named senior vice-president and general manager of Williams's natural gas pipelines in the West.

Ramsay will be relocated to Salt Lake City. He joined the company in 1982 and was named to his current position in 1996. He has worked at Williams for 20 years.

Craig R. Frew was named chairman of the New England Gas Association, based in Needham, Mass.

Frew joined NEGA in 1994. In March 2001, he was elected NEGA vice-chairman, and was confirmed as chairman effective Jan. 1. Frew succeeds Russell D. Wright.

Members of NEGA include New England's local natural gas utilities, the interstate pipeline companies, an LNG importer, and over 260 associate member companies.

Upstream

John M. Rauh was promoted to corporate controller of Kerr-McGee Corp., Oklahoma City. He has been vice-president and corporate treasurer since 1996. Rauh joined Kerr-McGee in 1981 as an assistant corporate controller.

John D. Longwell was appointed operations manager of Gasco Energy Inc., Denver. He has 24 years of experience in oil and gas drilling, completions, and operations. Before joining Gasco, Longwell was senior vice-president, operations, for Prima Energy Corp., Denver.

Downstream

Frank L. Waters has been named vice-president of Ashland Inc., Covington, Ky., and also president of Ashland Distribution Co.

He will be relocated to Dublin, Ohio, from Brussels, Belgium, where he was vice-president and general manager of the Ashland plastics division of Ashland Distribution since 1999.

Waters joined Ashland in 1991 as a business development specialist in Ashland Chemical's planning and development department in Dublin. He served as a district manager and as a regional director of sales for Ashland Chemical's industrial chemicals and solvents division during 1994-96.

In 1996, he was named executive assistant to Ashland Inc. CEO Paul W. Chellgren.

In June 1998, Waters returned to the Ashland Chemicals group, serving as the director of sales in Dublin, Ohio.

Colin A. Oerton has been named vice-president and chief financial officer of Sunoco Logistics Partners LP, Philadelphia, a master limited partnership that owns and operates the former logistics assets of Sunoco Inc.

Oerton joined Sunoco Logistics from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., New York, where he was senior vice-president, natural resources group.

Before joining Lehman, Oerton was vice-president and assistant director, corporate finance, at Barclays De Zoete Wedd Asset Management Ltd., now known as Barclays Capital, a subsidiary of Barclays Bank PLC, London. Prior to that, he was audit manager in the Toronto office of KPMG Peat Marwick Thorne.
