Pagano, a certified public accountant and certified management accountant, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Oswego. His post-graduate work was at Syracuse University.

Houston, has promoted Trey Whichard to vice-president and chief financial officer, and Jeff Smith to treasurer. Whichard, who has been with BJ Services since 1989, previously served as vice-president and treasurer. Smith previously was director of business development.

Denver, has announced that its UK subsidiary in London has hired Gavin Hills-Jones as director of new business development, and Pamy Virdi as reservoir geophysicist.

Hills-Jones previously worked for Western Geophysical, and most recently for Western Geco.

Virdi previously worked with Western Geco, where he was a senior geophysicist in their 4D data processing department.

Geotrace Technologies provides proprietary technologies aimed at reservoir imaging and description used to optimize petroleum reservoirs.

Halliburton and Landmark Graphics Corp.

Dallas, have consolidated their consulting resources to establish the Asset Perform ance Consulting (APC) group. APC consulting services span the oil field life cycle, and include exploration, development, production enhancement, divestment, and abandonment. The group integrates technical experience and know-how with state-of-the-art technologies and processes to generate economically viable and effective solutions. Worldwide APC personnel will include geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, production engineers, drilling engineers, facilities engineering, and economics professionals.

Sunnyvale, Calif., has announced the appointment of Brian M. Ahern as president and CEO. Ahern is an electrical engineering graduate of the University of Vermont. He previously served as president of Simulation Sciences Inc., and most recently was president of Invensys Process Solutions.

Weatherford International Inc.

Houston, has named Lisa W. Rodriguez as senior vice-president and chief financial officer. Rodriguez is a graduate of the University of Illinois, is a certified public accountant, and earned her master's degree in accounting from the University of Houston. She previously worked for Ernst & Young, and for Landmark Graphics. She has held several positions with Weatherford since joining the company in 1996.

Penspen Group

London, has promoted David N. Stanley to chief executive officer. Stanley earned his BS in engineering from Leeds University, and an MBA from Cranfield. He most recently served as president of Penspen Inc. in Houston.

The Penspen Group, which incorporates Andrew Palmer & Associates, provides engineering and management services to the international pipeline, and oil and gas industries. The group also is an owner and operator of pipelines in the UK.

Willbros Group Inc.

Houston, has promoted Warren Williams to senior vice-president. He joined the company in 2000 as vice-president of finance and accounting, and is chief financial officer. He will continue to direct all finance and accounting activities and strategies.

Additionally, Willbros elected Thomas C. Tise vice-president of Willbros USA Inc., responsible for estimating and proposal activity. Tise, who holds a BS from the University of Texas, has 25 years of experience in the pipeline ind ustry.
