Pemex, GE sign energy MOU

Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and GE have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) establishing a framework for collaboration on technology and financing relating to gas compression, electric power generation, and onshore and offshore hydrocarbon production including deepwater systems.

GE is reviewing opportunities to expand its local engineering and manufacturing capabilities. The companies also will share best practices in training and human resources.

Pemex cites the modernization of its Coatzacoalcos fertilizer plant as an example of a successful collaboration with GE.

The newly renovated plant will cover 25% of domestic demand for fertilizers and 90% for urea.
