Woodside Petroleum Ltd. has let a 12-month, $6-million contract to Wood Group Kenny (WGK) to carry out a front-end engineering and design job for the Woodside-led joint venture’s proposed Browse floating LNG (FLNG) project.

WGK will work from its Perth office to perform all design engineering for the rigid insulated production flow-line system required for development of the three gas-condensate fields—Torosa, Brecknock, and Calliance—which lie 300 km offshore Kimberley, Western Australia.

Final investment decision for the project is tentatively scheduled for 2016.

The contract follows WGK’s successful delivery of the preliminary engineering for the Browse flow line system during the basis-of-design phase.

WGK has also worked on numerous other Woodside projects, including Greater Western Flank Phase 2, Pluto, Angel, and the trunkline system expansion project.

WGK also successfully designed the subsea flowlines for Royal Dutch Shell PLC’s Prelude FLNG project now under construction.
