Jubilee oil production offshore Ghana back to previous rates

Tullow Oil PLC said natural gas exports from Jubilee field offshore Ghana have resumed and oil production has returned to previous rates.

Tullow Oil PLC said natural gas exports from Jubilee field offshore Ghana have resumed and oil production has returned to previous rates.

Gas exports to the Ghana gas plant at Atuabo were suspended July 3 due to technical issues with gas compression systems on the Kwame Nkrumah floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (OGJ Online, July 20, 2015). Gas exports resumed Aug. 3 and have increased to about 100 MMcfd.

Oil production from Tullow-operated Jubilee field during this year’s first half averaged 105,000 b/d. During work on the gas compressor in July, production had been constrained to 65,000 b/d.

On Aug. 12, Tullow also said the Spari-1 well on Suriname’s offshore Block 31 is being plugged. The well was drilled in 52 m of water to a total depth of 3,830 m, but found no significant hydrocarbon shows. Tullow holds 30% interest.
