The US Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on Fidelity Exploration & Production Co.’s proposed oil and gas project 17 miles northwest of Moab, Utah.

The MDU Resources Group subsidiary, based in Denver, plans to construct to construct 16 well pads, access roads, and pipelines, BLM’s Moab field office said. Each pad ultimately could contain 1-3 wellbores that may result in as many as 48 wells.

Fidelity’s proposal also includes onsite production facilities and gas gathering pipelines, the notice said. Comments will be accepted through Aug. 28. BLM also has scheduled an informational open house about the proposed project in Moab on Aug. 12.

Once the public scoping period ends, BLM plans to prepare an environmental assessment of potential impacts from the proposed project. It is seeking public comments to help identify relevant issues that will influence the scope of the analysis and guide the EA’s development process, the notice said.
