YPFB Andina reported an oil discovery in Boqueron field in Bolivia’s Santa Cruz region. The Boqueron 4D well reached a total depth of 3,237 m and had a flowrate of 700 b/d in initial tests.
YPFB Andina is a joint venture of Spain’s Repsol SA (48.3%) and state-owned YPFB (51%). The companies referred to the discovery as “the most significant made in Bolivia in more than 2 decades.”
They also forecast the drilling of as many as 25 wells in the field in first-quarter 2016 and expenditures of $200 million.
