Chesapeake names vice-president, exploration

Chesapeake Energy Corp. hired Frank Patterson as executive vice-president of exploration, land, and subsurface technology to succeed John Kapchinske, who recently retired.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. hired Frank Patterson as executive vice-president of exploration, land, and subsurface technology to succeed John Kapchinske, who recently retired.

Patterson has some 30 years of experience developing and implementing exploration programs worldwide. He worked in various roles at Anadarko Petroleum Corp. during 2006-15, most recently as senior vice-president of international exploration.

Previously, Patterson was Kerr-McGee vice-president of deepwater exploration where he concentrated on the Gulf of Mexico.
